While supporting EC mail order and DTC, there are many tasks that I personally find enjoyable, such as product planning, product development, medium-term planning, and advertising development, but I particularly enjoy thinking of new perspectives for product planning, or proposing ways to use or eat the products.
Maybe it's because I'm a bit of a weathervane at heart and my interests change all the time, but I always ask myself, "Is there anything else?" Or, I find it fun to look at "other industries" or "other products" and think about how they can be applied or adapted.
Now, since this spring, I have been using the free time I have had due to the COVID-19 pandemic to develop and manufacture my own products. Until now, we have collaborated with manufacturers on multiple occasions and our company or group has been the seller, but basically, we have been in the background when it comes to the products.
In a sense, I admire manufacturers, and I think that having the experience all the way to the sales site will be useful when supporting B2B, but I also feel a bit of a dilemma of not being able to see the results and thinking, "If it were me, I would do it this way!"
Considering that we live to be 100 years old and that we might work until we're 75, we thought it would be a good idea to do whatever we could, so our company took on the challenge of e-commerce again.
We have worked on this a number of times in the past, but most of it was joint ventures as mentioned above.
The idea this time was to try to solve problems in personal life (?) by using "personal out" - a method of resolving negative issues and fulfilling hopes through an individual's sensibilities and intuitions.
What I found was that every morning when I shaved, I would use pre-shave lotion, use an electric shaver, wash my face again every now and then, and apply an all-in-one gel around my mouth.
Still, a slight stinging sensation remains, giving a subtle negative impression. I wear a mask when I go out, so I guess I'm not in the age group where I'd think, "Oh well, a little bit of stubble is okay!" on weekdays. Especially for young people, I hear that hair removal is booming for men too.
Still, product development is fun, so this time we went ahead and created it, and have started selling it on our own website.
We would like people who use electric shavers and experience some skin discomfort to try this product.
I designed it so that if you apply it before shaving, it will penetrate just the right amount after shaving. I look forward to your comments and feedback!
