父の日を前に

Ahead of Father's Day

My father passed away before 2000.

He was only 67 years old and his liver cancer had worsened.

It was decided that I would be transferred to Tokyo the following year, and I reported this while I was lying in bed. A few days later, I collapsed in the toilet and was taken by ambulance to my regular general medical clinic. I rushed over from another house where I had a family in the middle of the night, and only lasted half a day.

My memories of my father, who was a wood mold maker (who makes wooden casting molds), include him helping me with crafts during summer holidays, him being very dexterous and helping me with motorcycle maintenance, and him being a die-hard Hanshin Tigers fan (we were living in Osaka at the time) teaching me baseball and going cycling with me. I have many fond memories of us doing things together.

He also loved my daughter and granddaughter very much, and when we went to the park together, he would mistake them for my sister and call her by her name, earning a laugh from his mother.

As Father's Day approaches, I think of my parents and my wife's father, who is 90 years old. He was surprisingly fashionable and took good care of his skin. He was born in the first decade of the Showa era and used only aftershave lotion and hair cologne before going to work.

Now it's time to give energetic dads some encouragement and some great skin care.

GA Cosmetics will support you with a "2025 Father's Day" coupon. On this day, say "Thank you!" to your father. Father's Day is a little overshadowed by Mother's Day.

From your son.
